Advanced Myofascial Release

How I can help you

Kinesiology Taping can be thought of as a secret weapon in your health and wellness toolkit.

Created in the 1970s by a Japanese Chiropractor, Dr. Kenzo Kase was looking for a way to 'save' the bodywork he did on his clients in-between their sessions so they could get faster, better results when they next saw each other. Kinesiology Tape (aka k-tape) was born.

Taping is now used across the health, fitness and sports sectors. Many leading athletes effectively incorporate k-taping into their preparatory and rehabilitation regimes, but you don't have to be an athlete to reap the benefits of it.

Whether you're a seasoned athlete, a sports junkie, a gym-goer, or someone who's had an injury or accident that's causing problems, kinesiology taping can be a fantastic addition to your recovery without restricting your movement.

What to expect

Each Kinesiology Taping treatment is up to 30 minutes long. Our session includes a consultation (or catch-up chat for subsequent treatments), the hands-on portion of the treatment, followed by appropriate after-care advice and tailored rehab exercises (where appropriate).

If we have discussed incorporating k-taping in one of our other treatments, then for best results, we recommend booking in a stand-alone Kinesiology Taping session. Why? Massage wax can stop the tape from effectively sticking to your skin, however, in some cases, we may still apply it after one of our Advanced Massage Treatments (where we feel it's necessary).

Taping can be used on many areas of your body where you are experiencing pain and discomfort, or following an injury, such as a sprain or strain. It is completely painless to apply the tape - depending on the area being taped, your practitioner will use a variety of taping methods to help produce the desired results.

What my happy clients say:

I came to Charlie with stiffness in my neck and pain whenever moving it around. After one session Charlie used a wide range of techniques to relieve the tension in my neck, shoulders and mouth! After my first session I felt relaxed, relieved and have a much wider range of mobility in my neck. I get chronic headaches quite often, and I know this is due to the stress I hope in my neck. Charlie has managed to find so many tension points which I didn't know I had. Charlie is lovely, she will always make you feel comfortable and always accommodates any needs you may have. I am so happy with the results from just one session - my posture is so much better and I can't wait to use the different exercises she has given me to further relieve any tension I have.

Our Covid Precautions

  • For New Clients: as a courtesy, we'll phone you prior to your first session for a quick initial 3-5min chat.

  • Please arrive on time for your appointments - hand gel is readily available.

  • Your temperature will be taken upon arrival & we have a quick Covid questionnaire for you to fill out.

  • All surfaces in the treatment room/studio (including equipment) are thoroughly disinfected with medical-grade wipes/spray prior to each session; our rooms are well ventilated too.

  • Your practitioner will be in new PPE for each client.

  • Currently clients' face masks must be worn during your treatment (it's not as uncomfortable as you think!), except for Pilates where we're 2+ meters apart.
